The original shop front was in need of replacement, after becoming rotten from over 100 years of weather. It has been
replaced with a new wooden front, and the size of the sign board increased slightly. All the leading across the top
of the windows has been replaced as well.
The shop was built as a shoe shop, and although they looked useful, the shelves were totally unsuitable. We also wanted
to create a much more light and airy 'feel'. The enclosures around the windows (not original) blocked a great deal of the light.
The side window has been uncovered to let in even more natural light. (The frame was replaced with a new hardwood one)
A light neutral colour on the wall, combined with large amounts of natural wood have transformed the space. It now feels much
bigger than it did before, but is stil 5.5 x 4.5 metres (17.5 x 13.5 feet)
